Woodlake Golf & County Club, Pinehurst

Woodlake Golf & Country Club

Donald Ross was an apprentice under Old Tom Morris, Frank Maples was an apprentice under Donald Ross, Ellis Maples, who designed and built Woodlake was an apprentice under both.  I wouldn’t exactly say that there is a direct connection between Old Tom Morris and Woodlake, but the quality of great golf course architecture that is passed down from generation to generation is certainly prevalent today at Woodlake Country Club.  In 1971 Ellis Maples created a course described by many as one of the most challenging and beautiful golf courses in the Southeast. In 1995, a second course was added to the Woodlake inventory when Arnold Palmer put his design team to work.  Winding gracefully around the largest, private, man-made lake in North Carolina, Woodlake’s two championship courses will provide you with a golf experience for a “king”.

Historical Oates House

Woodlake Resort and Country Club is the perfect spot for a secluded corporate retreat, golf tournament, business meeting or special event.Historic Oates House at Woodlake
The Historical Oates House at Woodlake Resort and Country Club is a magnificent reminder of colonial residents. Originally constructed in 1792 in nearby Fayetteville, NC, the house first served as an inn and later became the home of John A. Oates, a judge, historian and civic leader. In a continuing effort to preserve the historic significance of the area and enhance the beauty of the lakefront, The Historical Oates House was moved to Woodlake Resort and Country Club and completely renovated and expanded to serve as a clubhouse. It has now become the social center of the community.

The LakeView Dining Room and outside terraces offer casual and fine dining with panoramic views of the lake.  The picturesque setting, overlooking a 1,130 acre lake offers a magnificent backdrop for your special event.

Whether you’re planning a Family Reunion, Private Party, Rehearsal Dinner, or Wedding and Reception, we offer the perfect setting. Our friendly, experienced staff will work closely with you to arrange all your decorating and catering needs.
